Chapter on Etiquette of Drinking - Instruction to Pass Water to the Right Even if the Left is More Honorable
Hadith Number: 5334
اخبرنا عمر بن سعيد بن سنان ، قال: حدثنا هشام بن عمار ، قال: حدثنا مالك بن انس ، قال: حدثني الزهري ، عن انس بن مالك ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اتي بلبن، وقد شيب بماء، وعن يمينه اعرابي، وعن يساره ابو بكر، فشرب ثم اعطى الاعرابي، وقال: " الايمن فالايمن" .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Milk mixed with water was presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). On his right side was a Bedouin sitting, and on his left was Sayyiduna Abu Bakr. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drank from it and then, giving it to the Bedouin, said: The right side has the first right.
