ذكر الأمر بقص الشوارب وترك اللحى-
Instruction to Trim the Mustache and Leave the Beard
Hadith Number: 5475
اخبرنا عمر بن سعيد بن سنان ، قال: اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن ابي بكر بن نافع ، عن ابيه ، عن ابن عمر : ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم" امر بإحفاء الشوارب، وإعفاء اللحى" ، قال ابو حاتم رضي الله عنه: ما روى مالك عن ابي بكر بن نافع غير هذا الحديث، واسم ابي بكر: عمر.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded to trim the moustache short and to let the beard grow.
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Imam Malik has not narrated any hadith from Abu Bakr bin Nafi’ except this narration, and the name of Abu Bakr bin Nafi’ is Umar.
