باب آداب النوم - ذكر إطلاق اسم العدو على النار للعلة التي تقدم ذكرنا لها-
Chapter on Etiquette of Sleep - Calling Fire the Enemy for the Previously Mentioned Reason
Hadith Number: 5520
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، قال: حدثنا ابو كريب ، قال: حدثنا ابو اسامة ، عن بريد ، عن ابي بردة ، عن ابي موسى ، قال: احترق بيت بالمدينة على اهله من الليل، فلما حدث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بشانهم، قال:" إن هذه النار إنما هي عدوكم، فإذا نمتم، فاطفئوها عنكم" .
Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In Madinah Munawwarah, during the night, a house along with its inhabitants was burned. When their case was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he said: This fire is your enemy; when you are about to sleep, extinguish it.
