Hadith Number: 5730
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، قال: حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم المروزي ، قال: حدثنا ابو ضمرة انس بن عياض ، قال: حدثني يزيد بن عبد الله بن الهاد ، عن محمد بن إبراهيم ، عن ابي سلمة ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: اتى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بشارب، فقال:" اضربوه"، فمنا الضارب بيده، ومنا الضارب بنعله، فقال بعض القوم: اخزاك الله! فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لا تقولوا هكذا، لا تعينوا الشيطان عليه" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to a drunkard. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "You people beat him." So some of us struck him with their hands, some with their shoes. One of those present said: "May Allah disgrace you." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Do not say this. Do not help Satan against him."
