Sahih Ibn Hibban
كِتَابُ إِخْبَارِهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَنَاقِبِ الصَّحَابَةِ رِجَالِهِمْ وَنِسَائِهِمْ بِذِكْرِ أَسْمَائِهِمْ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Book of the Prophet’s ﷺ Reports on the Virtues of the Companions, Men and Women, by Name
ذكر الخبر المصرح بأن هؤلاء الأربع الذين تقدم ذكرنا لهم أهل بيت المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم-
Hadith Number: 6976
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن سلم ، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن إبراهيم ، حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم ، وعمر بن عبد الواحد ، قالا: حدثنا الاوزاعي ، عن شداد ابي عمار ، عن واثلة بن الاسقع ، قال: سالت عن علي في منزله، فقيل لي ذهب ياتي برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، إذ جاء، فدخل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ودخلت، فجلس رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على الفراش، واجلس فاطمة عن يمينه وعليا عن يساره، وحسنا وحسينا بين يديه، وقال: " إنما يريد الله ليذهب عنكم الرجس اهل البيت ويطهركم تطهيرا سورة الاحزاب آية 33، اللهم هؤلاء اهلي"، قال واثلة: فقلت من ناحية البيت: وانا يا رسول الله من اهلك؟ قال: وانت من اهلي ، قال واثلة: إنها لمن ارجى ما ارتجي.
Sayyiduna Wathilah bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I inquired about Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) at his house, and I was informed that he had gone out and would return with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Then he came, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered the house. I also entered. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sat on the bedding. He seated Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) on his right, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) on his left, and Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) in front of him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited (this verse):“O People of the House! Allah only wishes to remove impurity from you and to purify you thoroughly.”Then he said:“O Allah! These are my Ahl al-Bayt (family).”
Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He said from the edge of the house,“O Messenger of Allah! Am I also among your Ahl al-Bayt?”The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“You are also among my Ahl al-Bayt.”Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Of all the things I could have hoped for, this was the most remarkable.
Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He said from the edge of the house,“O Messenger of Allah!
