Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to stick out his tongue for Sayyiduna Imam Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) (when he was a child). The child would see the redness of the Prophet’s tongue and he liked it. ‘Uyainah bin Badr said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):“Do I not see you doing this with the child? By Allah, I also have children whose faces have appeared, but I have never kissed any of them.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.”
