Sahih Ibn Hibban
كِتَابُ إِخْبَارِهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَنَاقِبِ الصَّحَابَةِ رِجَالِهِمْ وَنِسَائِهِمْ بِذِكْرِ أَسْمَائِهِمْ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Book of the Prophet’s ﷺ Reports on the Virtues of the Companions, Men and Women, by Name
ذكر عمرو بن العاص السهمي رضي الله عنه - ذكر البيان بأن معاذ بن جبل كان ممن جمع القرآن على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم-
Hadith Number: 7130
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان، حدثنا عبيد الله بن معاذ بن معاذ ، حدثنا ابي ، عن شعبة ، عن قتادة ، قال: سمعت انس بن مالك ، يقول:" جمع القرآن على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اربعة، كلهم من الانصار: معاذ بن جبل، وابي بن كعب، وزيد بن ثابت، وابو زيد رحمهم الله" .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed era of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), four people compiled the Qur'an (i.e., preserved it in written form), and all of them belonged to the Ansar. (They are:) Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal, Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b, Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit, and Sayyiduna Abu Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them). May Allah have mercy on these people.
