Sahih Ibn Hibban
كِتَابُ إِخْبَارِهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَنَاقِبِ الصَّحَابَةِ رِجَالِهِمْ وَنِسَائِهِمْ بِذِكْرِ أَسْمَائِهِمْ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

باب الحجاز واليمن والشام وفارس وعمان - ذكر الإخبار عما يستحب للمرء من سكنى الشام عند ظهور الفتن بالمسلمين-
Hadith Number: 7306
اخبرنا مكحول ببيروت، قال: حدثنا العباس بن الوليد بن مزيد ، قال: حدثنا ابي ، قال: سمعت سعيد بن عبد العزيز ، قال: اخبرني مكحول ، عن ابي إدريس الخولاني ، عن عبد الله بن حوالة ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" إنكم ستجندون اجنادا: جندا بالشام، وجندا بالعراق، وجندا باليمن"، قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، خر لي؟ قال:" عليك بالشام، فمن ابى فليلحق بيمنه، وليسق من غدره، فإن الله تكفل لي بالشام واهله ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Hawalah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon you will find some armies. One army will be in Sham (Greater Syria). One army will be in Iraq. One army will be in Yemen." The narrator says: I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Please choose one for me." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is obligatory upon you to choose Sham. Whoever does not accept this should stay with his sheep and goats (away from the settlements of people), because Allah Almighty has guaranteed me (the safety of) Sham and its people."
