Establishing the Prayer and the Sunnah Regarding Them
. بَابُ: فِيمَنْ سَلَّمَ مِنْ ثِنْتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثٍ سَاهِيًا
Chapter: One who says the Salam after two or three Rak’ah by mistake
Hadith Number: 1213
حدثنا علي بن محمد ، وابو كريب ، واحمد بن سنان ، قالوا: حدثنا ابو اسامة ، عن عبيد الله بن عمر ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" سها فسلم في الركعتين"، فقال له رجل يقال له: ذو اليدين: يا رسول الله، اقصرت ام نسيت؟، قال:" ما قصرت وما نسيت"، قال: صليت ركعتين، قال:" اكما يقول ذو اليدين"، قالوا: نعم،" فتقدم فصلى ركعتين، ثم سلم، ثم سجد سجدتي السهو".
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) forgot and said the Taslim after two Rak’ah. A man who was called Dhul-Yadain said to him: ‘O Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been shortened or did you forget?’ He said: ‘It has not been shortened and I did not forget.’ He said: ‘But you prayed two Rak’ah.’ He said: ‘Is what Dhul-Yadain says true?’ They said: ‘Yes.’ So he went forward and performed two Rak’ah and said the Salam, then he prostrated twice for prostrations of forgetfulness.
قال الشيخ الألباني: صحيح
قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:إسناده صحيح
Hadith Number: 1214
حدثنا علي بن محمد ، حدثنا ابو اسامة ، عن ابن عون ، عن ابن سيرين ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال:" صلى بنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إحدى صلاتي العشي ركعتين، ثم سلم، ثم قام إلى خشبة كانت في المسجد يستند إليها"، فخرج سرعان الناس يقولون: قصرت الصلاة؟ وفي القوم ابو بكر وعمر، فهاباه ان يقولا له شيئا، وفي القوم رجل طويل اليدين يسمى ذا اليدين، فقال: يا رسول الله، اقصرت الصلاة ام نسيت؟، فقال:" لم تقصر ولم انس"، قال: فإنما صليت ركعتين، قال:" اكما يقول ذو اليدين"، قالوا: نعم،" فقام فصلى ركعتين، ثم سلم، ثم سجد سجدتين، ثم سلم".
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:`“The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) led us in one of the afternoon prayers, and he prayed two Rak’ah, then he said the Salam. Then he stood up and went to a piece of wood in the mosque, and leaned against it. Those who were in a hurry left the mosque, saying that the prayer had been shortened. Among the people were Abu Bakr and ‘Umar, but they dared not say anything. Among the people there was also a man with long hands who was called Dhul- Yadain. He said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been shortened or did you forget?’ He said: ‘It has not been shortened and I did not forget.’ He said: ‘But you prayed two Rak’ah.’ He said: ‘Is what Dhul- Yadain says true?’ They said: ‘Yes.’ So he went forward and performed two Rak’ah and said the Salam, then he prostrated twice, and then he said the Salam again.”

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:بخاري ومسلم
Hadith Number: 1215
حدثنا محمد بن المثنى ، واحمد بن ثابت الجحدري ، حدثنا عبد الوهاب ، حدثنا خالد الحذاء ، عن ابي قلابة ، عن ابي المهلب ، عن عمران بن الحصين ، قال:" سلم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في ثلاث ركعات من العصر، ثم قام فدخل الحجرة"، فقام الخرباق رجل بسيط اليدين، فنادى: يا رسول الله، اقصرت الصلاة؟" فخرج مغضبا يجر إزاره، فسال، فاخبر، فصلى تلك الركعة التي كان ترك، ثم سلم، ثم سجد سجدتين، ثم سلم".
It was narrated that ‘Imran bin Husain said:`“The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said the Salam after three Rak’ah for ‘Asr, then he stood up and went into the apartment. Khirbaq, a man with big hands, stood up and called out: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Has the prayer been shortened?’ He came out angrily, dragging his lower garment, and asked about it, and was told (what had happened). So he performed the Rak’ah that he had omitted, then he said the Salam, then he prostrated twice and said the Salam again.”
