It was narrated from Aishah that: she freed Barirah and the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) gave her the choice, and she (Barirah) had a free husband.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The husband of Barirah was a slave called Mughith. It is as if I can see him now, walking behind her and weeping, with tears running down his cheeks. The Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said to 'Abbas: 'O Abbas, are you not amazed by the love of Mughith for Barirah, and the hatred of Barirah for Mughith?' And the Prophet said to her: Why don’t you take him back, for he is the father of your child?' She said: 'O Messenger of Allah, are you commanding me (to do so)?' He said: 'No, rather I am interceding.' She said: 'I have no need of him.' "

Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that three Sunnahs became evident in the case of Barirah: First, when she was freed, she was given the choice, and her husband was a slave. Second, people used to give charity to Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her), and she would present it as a gift to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so he (peace be upon him) would say:“It is charity for her, and a gift for us.”Third, regarding her, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“The right of wala’ (inheritance of a freed slave) belongs to the one who sets him free.”__QUR_N__, __XREF_N__, __REF_N__

Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that Bareerah (may Allah be pleased with her) was instructed to observe the waiting period of three menstrual cycles.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) gave Barirah the choice.
