حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا ابن حريج ، عن ابن ابي مليكة ، عن عبد الله بن السائب ," ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى بالناس الصبح يوم الفتح، فقرا سورة المؤمنين، فلما بلغ ذكر عيسى وامه اخذته سعلة، او شرقة فركع" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa'ib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) led the people in the morning prayer on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah. He (peace be upon him) recited Surah Al-Mu’minun, and when he (peace be upon him) reached the mention of Sayyiduna Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon him) and his mother, he (peace be upon him) started coughing. (The narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words:) Phlegm came into his (peace be upon him) throat, so he (peace be upon him) went into bowing (ruku‘).
