Chapter: The Prophet's ﷺ guidance regarding the plague and the prohibition of entering or leaving a place of epidemic
Hadith Number: 72
Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: The plague was mentioned before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: "The plague is a punishment which was sent down, or with it a nation from among the nations before you was punished, and it is some of its remnants. When you hear that the plague has broken out in a land, do not go there, and when it breaks out in the land where you are, do not flee from it." Muhammad bin Munkadir said: I narrated this hadith to Umar bin Abdul Aziz, so he said: 'Aamir bin Sa’d (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated this hadith to me in the same way.'

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman that Amir bin Sa’d narrated a hadith to Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) when he was the governor of Madinah. See what you are attributing to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!”Sa’d replied,“I testify that I have not attributed any lie to Sa’d bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), nor did Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) attribute any lie to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).”Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) said,“And I testify that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not speak falsely.”
