It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sun does not rise or set on any day better or greater than the day of Jumu'ah (Friday). And every creature, except jinn and humans, is fearful and apprehensive on the day of Jumu'ah." In the narration of Ali bin Hujr, Ibn Bazee’ and Muhammad bin Waleed, it is stated: "on any better day," and they did not express doubt between the words "better" or "greater" (rather, they only mentioned the word "better").

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Friday is the chief of all days. On this day Adam (peace be upon him) was created, on this day he was admitted into Paradise, and on this day he was expelled from Paradise, and the Day of Resurrection will also be established on a Friday." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that we made a mistake in narrating this hadith because it is a mursal narration. Musa bin Abi Uthman did not hear narrations from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), whereas his father, Abu Uthman Taban, narrated what he had heard from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Friday is the best day on which the sun has risen. On this day, Adam (peace be upon him) was created, and on this day he was admitted into Paradise, and on this day he was expelled from Paradise, and on this day the Hour will be established." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that regarding the words of this narration, "On this day Adam (peace be upon him) was created" up to "on this day the Hour will be established," the scholars differ as to whether these words were narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or whether he narrated them from Ka'b al-Ahbar (may Allah have mercy on him). I have mentioned in Kitab al-Kabir the narrations that clarify which narrators have reported these words from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) through Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), and which narrators have reported them as the words of Ka'b al-Ahbar. My heart inclines more towards the narration of those narrators who have reported it from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) as the statement of Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), because Muhammad bin Yahya narrated to us with his chain from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that "The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On this day Adam (peace be upon him) was created, and on this day he was settled in Paradise, and on this day he was expelled from there, and on this day the Hour will be established." Abu Salamah says: I asked Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied, "(No), rather, Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this to us." Similarly, this narration has been reported by Aban bin Yazid Attar and Shayban bin Abdur Rahman Nahwi from Yahya bin Abi Kathir. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) states that regarding the words of the hadith, "Friday is the best day on which the sun has risen," there is no doubt that these words were narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and as for the words after that, "On this day Adam (peace be upon him) was created," up to the end, the scholars differ. According to some, these are narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and according to others, they are narrated from Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him).

Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash’ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Indeed, Allah Almighty will resurrect the days on the Day of Resurrection in their original form, and the day of Friday will be raised shining and radiant. The people of Friday will surround it just as a bride is surrounded (by her loved ones) when she is handed over to the groom. Friday will give them light, and they will be walking in its light. Their color will be white like snow, and their fragrance and scent will spread like musk. They will be entering the mountains of camphor. The jinn and mankind will be watching them, and due to amazement and wonder at their high status, they will not lower their gaze—until they enter Paradise. No one else will be with them except the callers to prayer (mu’adhdhins) who gave the adhan solely for the sake of reward and recompense; they will be with them.”This is the hadith of Zakariya Yahya.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took my hand and said: "Allah Almighty created the soil on Saturday, and He made the mountains on Sunday, and He created the trees on Monday, and on Tuesday He created disliked things. On Wednesday He created light. And on Thursday He spread the animals on the earth, and Adam (peace be upon him) was created on Friday after Asr. He was the last of creation to be created on Friday, in the last hour, between Asr and night."

Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Salman, what is the condition and importance of the day of Jumu'ah (Friday)?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "O Salman, what is the day of Jumu'ah?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Salman, how is the day of Jumu'ah?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Salman, on the day of Jumu'ah your father or the father of all of you (Adam) was gathered (created). I will tell you the importance and virtue of the day of Jumu'ah. Whoever, on the day of Jumu'ah, attains purity and cleanliness as you have been commanded, leaves his house and comes (to the mosque) for Jumu'ah, then sits quietly (and listens to the sermon) until he performs his prayer, then this act will be an expiation for the sins committed until the next Jumu'ah."

Sayyiduna Aws bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Among your best and most exalted days is the day of Friday. On this day, Adam (peace be upon him) was created, and on this day he passed away, and on this day the trumpet will be blown, and on this day (people) will fall unconscious. So send abundant blessings upon me on this day, for your blessings are presented to me." The Companions asked, "How will our blessings be presented to you when your blessed body will have decayed?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets."
