Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah
3| Chapter on the command to fight those who withhold zakat
Hadith Number: Q2247
In obedience to the command of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to fight the polytheists until they repent from polytheism, establish the prayer, and give the zakat, and in compliance with His, Glorious and Exalted, command to leave them alone after they establish the prayer and give the zakat. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: So kill the polytheists wherever you find them until His saying: [فَإِنْ تَابُوا وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ فَخَلُّوا سَبِيلَهُمْ] [التَّوْبَةِ: 5] , and He said: [فَإِنْ تَابُوا وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ] [التَّوْبَةِ: 11]
Hadith Number: 2247
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, some of the Arab tribes became apostates. (Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, was appointed as the Caliph, and he intended to fight the apostates.) Upon this, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Abu Bakr, do you want to fight the Arabs?" So Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah, and they establish prayer and pay zakat.'" Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "By Allah, if they withhold from me even a young she-goat which they used to give to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I will surely fight them for its payment." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says, "Then when I saw that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was fully determined in his opinion, I also realized that this was the truth." Both narrators have narrated the hadith in similar words. However, the narrator Bundar has narrated these words differently: "لَقَاتَلْتُهُمْ عَلَيْهَهِ" ("I will fight them for it").

4| Chapter on the evidence that a person’s blood and wealth are protected only after testifying, establishing prayer, and giving zakat when due
Hadith Number: Q2248
Because Allah Almighty has made the polytheists brothers of the Muslims after they repent from shirk, establish prayer, and give zakat, when both of these have become obligatory.

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no deity except Allah, establish prayer, and pay zakat. Then their blood and their wealth will be protected from me, and their reckoning is with Allah."

5| Chapter on those who withhold zakat being among the first to enter the Fire—may Allah protect us
Hadith Number: 2249
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first three people to enter Paradise and the first three people to enter Hell were shown to me. The first three to enter Paradise are: the martyr, the slave who worshipped his Lord well and was sincere to his master, and the third is the person who has many children, is chaste, does not beg from anyone. And the three people who will be the first to enter Hell are: the tyrannical and oppressive king, the wealthy person who does not give Allah's due (zakat) from his wealth, and the third is the poor person who is arrogant and proud."

6| Chapter on the curse upon the collector of charity who refuses to give it
Hadith Number: 2250
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the one who consumes usury, the one who gives it, and its two witnesses—while they are aware of it—and the woman who tattoos and the woman who gets herself tattooed, and the one who delays the payment of Zakat, and the Bedouin who becomes an apostate after migrating, all these people will be cursed by Muhammad (peace be upon him) on the Day of Resurrection.

7| Chapter on the types of punishment for those who withhold zakat on the Day of Judgment before judgment among creation—may Allah protect us
Hadith Number: 2251
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was sitting in the shade of the Ka'bah. When he saw me, he said: "By the Lord of the Ka'bah, those people are truly the greatest losers." So I sat down, but I did not feel at ease, so I stood up and said, "May my parents be sacrificed for you, who are those people?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "They are the wealthy people, except for those who spend their wealth to the right, to the left, in front, and behind (when needed)." He said this four times, "and such people are very few. And whoever owns camels, cows, or goats and does not give their zakat, then these animals will come on the Day of Resurrection, fat and healthy, and they will gore him with their horns and trample him under their feet. When the last animal passes over him, the first will return to him." (This punishment will continue) until judgment is passed among the people." This is the narration of Ishaq. And in the narration of Ja'far, Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever owns camels..." then from this point to the end, he narrated as above, but he did not mention the initial part of the hadith."

8| Chapter on some forms of withholding zakat
Hadith Number: Q2252
And the evidence against the statement of those who are ignorant of the meaning of His, the Exalted, saying: [وَالَّذِينَ يَكْنِزُونَ الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ الْآيَةَ] [التَّوْبَةِ: 34] , and claimed that this verse was revealed only about the disbelievers and not about the believers, while the chosen Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has informed that this verse was revealed about the believers and not about the disbelievers. For it is impossible to say: the disbelievers will be punished until such and such a time, then their path will be shown, either to Paradise or to the Fire; because the disbeliever will be eternally in the Fire, and does not hope that his path will be set free after some punishment before the judgment among the people, then his path will be set free either to Paradise or to the Fire. Rather, he will be eternally in the Fire after the judgment among the people.
Hadith Number: 2252
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not pay the zakat of his wealth, (on the Day of Resurrection) his wealth will be brought to him. Then plates of that wealth will be made and heated in the fire of Hell. Then with those plates, his sides, forehead, and back will be branded. This will continue until Allah decides among His servants. (This punishment) will be given on a day whose length, according to your counting, will be equal to a thousand years. Then he will see his path either to Paradise or to Hell. And whoever does not pay the zakat of his camels, he will be brought along with his camels, which will be fat and healthy. He will be made to lie face down in a wide, level field. Then the camels will trample him. When the last camel passes over him, the first will be brought back. This will continue until Allah decides among His servants. (This treatment) will last the whole day, whose length, according to your counting, will be a thousand years. Then he will see his path either to Paradise or to Hell. And whoever does not pay the zakat of his goats, he will be brought along with his goats, which will be fat and healthy. That person will be made to lie face down in a wide, level field, and the goats will walk over him. Whenever the last goat passes, the first will be brought back. The goats will trample him with their hooves and butt him with their horns. Among them, there will be no goat with twisted horns or without horns. This will continue until Allah decides among His servants. (This punishment) will last the whole day, whose length, according to your counting, will be a thousand years. Then he will see his path either to Paradise or to Hell." The Companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what is the ruling regarding horses?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Goodness and blessing are written in the foreheads of horses until the Day of Resurrection, and horses are of three types. One type is a source of reward for a person, one is a means of protection, and one is a cause of punishment for a person." Then he narrated the complete hadith. The Companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the ruling regarding donkeys?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has not revealed any command to me regarding them except this comprehensive and unique verse «فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَّرَهُ، وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَّرَهُ » [ سورة الزلزلة: 8، 7 ] 'So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.'" "Al-Jalha" is the goat that has no horns. "Al-Aqsa" is the one whose horns are broken or twisted.

The Imam narrated the aforementioned report from his teacher Ziyadah bin Yahya with the complete chain. He narrated the full hadith, and in all places, these words are present: "He will continue to receive this punishment all day long, the duration of which, according to your reckoning, will be fifty thousand years."
