Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out towards Badr. A polytheist man also followed behind him and caught up with him at Jamrah. He said: I also wish to fight alongside you and obtain war booty. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: Do you believe in Allah and His Messenger? He said: No. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then go back, for indeed we do not seek help from any polytheist. But then he met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) again at the tree. The noble companions were very pleased with him, because he was a strong and tough man. He said: I have come to fight alongside you and obtain war booty. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you believe in Allah and His Messenger? He said: No. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then go back, for indeed I never seek help from a polytheist. Then when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended to the place of Bayda, that same man met him again and said the same thing. But the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you believe in Allah and His Messenger? He said: Yes. So this time the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took him along and proceeded.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) set out towards Badr, he came out and consulted the people. First, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) gave his opinion. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) consulted again, and this time Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave his opinion, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) remained silent. Then an Ansari man spoke and said: "O Ansar! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) wants an answer from you." So they said: "O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, we will not say to you what the Children of Israel said to Musa (peace be upon him): 'You and your Lord go and fight; indeed, we are sitting right here.' But rather, by Allah! If you travel with your camels to Bark al-Ghamad, we will surely remain with you."

Imam Hasan Basri says: Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) fell ill, and the illness weighed heavily upon him. Ibn Ziyad came to visit him, and he said: I will narrate to you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace be upon him) said: Whoever is made responsible for the care of the common people, but does not act with goodwill towards them, will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise, though its fragrance can be perceived from a distance of one hundred years. Ibn Ziyad said: Why did you not narrate this hadith to me before now? He replied: Even now, if it were not for the situation you are in, I would not have narrated it to you. In another narration: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty appoints someone as responsible for the care of the common people, but if he dies on the day of his death while deceiving them, Allah makes Paradise forbidden for such a person. In another narration: Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The guardian who is entrusted with the care of the people, but betrays them, will be in the Fire. In another narration: It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whether the community is small or large, whoever becomes its ruler and does not act justly among them, Allah will throw him face down into Hell.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a caller to them, who announced: Whoever has narrowed the place of stay or cut off the path, his jihad will not be accepted.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered fighting. One of his companions was struck by an arrow, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about him: He has made Paradise obligatory for himself. Mawla-e-Rasool Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said during one of his journeys: "Indeed, tonight we will travel all night, so no one with a rebellious or weak camel should travel this night." However, a man set out on this journey with his rebellious camel, but he fell, his thigh broke, and he died. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) first ordered his funeral prayer to be performed, but then ordered a caller to announce among the people: "Indeed, Paradise is not lawful for the disobedient, indeed, Paradise is not lawful for the disobedient." He said this three times.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among them and said:“Your scattering in these valleys in this manner is from Satan.”After this command, whenever the Companions would descend at a place, they would gather so closely together that it could be said: if I were to spread a sheet over them, it would cover them all.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent out an army and appointed an Ansari man as their commander. When the army set out, for some reason their commander became angry with them. So he said to them: Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) not command you to obey me? They said: Yes, indeed. He said: Then gather firewood. Then he had a fire lit and said to them: I strongly urge you to enter this fire. Some people intended to enter it, but among them a young man said: (Be sensible) You went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to escape from the fire, so do not be hasty in this matter until you meet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (and ask him about this). If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commands you to enter this fire, then enter it. So when they returned to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him of the incident, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you had entered it, you would never have come out of it. Obedience to the commander is only in matters of goodness. In another narration: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to those who intended to enter the fire: If you had entered it, you would have remained in it until the Day of Resurrection. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke well of the others and said: There is no obedience in disobedience to Allah; obedience is only in good matters. In another narration: There is no obedience to any human being in disobedience to Allah Almighty.
