Al-Fath al-Rabbani
بَاب مَا جَاءَ فِي التَّعَرُّدِ وَصِيغِهِ وَفَضْلِهِ
Chapter: What has been reported regarding seeking exposure (to Allah’s mercy), its forms, and its virtue
Hadith Number: 5702
عن عمر رضي الله عنه ان النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم كان يتعوذ من البخل والجبن وعذاب القبر وارذل العمر وفتنة الصدر قال وكيع فتنة الصدر ان يموت الرجل وذكر وكيع الفتنة لم يتب منها
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge from miserliness, cowardice, the torment of the grave, the most disgraceful age, and the trial of the chest. Imam Waki’ said: The trial of the chest is that a person dies in such a state that he has committed any of the aforementioned evils, but has not yet repented.

Hadith Number: 5703
عنه من طريق ثان عن عمر رضي الله عنه ان النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم كان يتعوذ من خمس من البخل والجبن وفتنة الصدر وعذاب القبر وسوء العمل
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge from these five things: miserliness, cowardice, the trial of the chest, the punishment of the grave, and evil deeds.

Chapter: The obligation of sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 5704
عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم لا تتخذوا قبري عيدا ولا تجعلوا بيوتكم قبورا وحيثما كنتم فصلوا علي فإن صلاتكم تبلغني
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not make my grave a place of festival, and do not make your homes graveyards, and wherever you are, send blessings upon me, for indeed your blessings reach me.

Hadith Number: 5705
عن ابي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال صلوا علي فإنها زكاة لكم واسالوا الله لي الوسيلة فإنها درجة في اعلى الجنة لا ينالها إلا رجل وارجو ان اكون انا هو
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Send blessings upon me, for indeed it is a means of purification for you, and ask Allah the Exalted to grant me al-Wasilah, for it is the highest rank in Paradise. Only one person will attain it, and I hope that I will be that person.

Chapter: Condemnation of one who neglects sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 5706
عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم رغم انف رجل ذكرت عنده فلم يصل علي
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May the nose of that person be covered with dust, in whose presence I am mentioned and he does not send blessings upon me.

Hadith Number: 5707
عن ابيه علي بن حسين عن ابيه رضي الله عنهما ان النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال البخيل من ذكرت عنده ثم لم يصل علي
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That person is a miser in whose presence my mention is made, but he does not send blessings upon me.

باب مَا جَاءَ فِي فَضْلِ الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَمُضَاعَفَةِ أَجْرٍ فَاعِلِهَا
Chapter: What has been reported regarding the virtue of sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the multiplied reward for doing so
Hadith Number: 5708
عن عبيد الله بن ابي طلحة عن ابيه رضي الله عنه ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم جاء ذات يوم والسرور يرى في وجهه فقالوا يا رسول الله إنا لنرى السرور في وجهك فقال إنه اتاني ملك فقال يا محمد اما يرضيك ان ربك عز وجل يقول إنه لا يصلي عليك احد من امتك إلا صليت عليه عشرا ولا يسلم عليك احد من امتك إلا سلمت عليه عشرا قال بلى
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: One day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) came to us and signs of happiness were visible on his blessed face. We said: O Messenger of Allah! We see joy on your face. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: (The reason is that) an angel came to me and said: O Muhammad! Does it not please you that Allah Almighty says: Whoever from your Ummah sends blessings upon you once, I will send ten mercies upon him, and whoever from your Ummah prays for peace upon you once, I will send ten peaces upon him? I said: Why not, I am pleased.

Hadith Number: 5709
من طريق ثان عن ابي طلحة رضي الله عنه ايضا نحوه وفيه من صلى عليك من امتك صلاة كتب الله له عشر حسنات ومحا عنه عشر سيئات ورفع له عشر درجات ورد عليه مثلها
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him), then a similar narration is mentioned, however, with this detail: Whoever from your Ummah sends blessings upon you, Allah Almighty will write ten good deeds for him, forgive ten of his sins, raise him by ten degrees, and will return a similar blessing upon him.

Hadith Number: 5710
عن انس بن مالك رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم من صلى علي صلاة واحدة صلى الله عليه عشر صلوات وحط عنه عشر خطيئات
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah Almighty will send ten mercies upon him and will forgive ten of his sins.

Hadith Number: 5711
عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم من صلى علي واحدة صلى الله عليه عشرا
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah Almighty will send ten mercies upon him.
