Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding the Expedition of Dhu Qarad, Also Called the Expedition of al-Ghaba
Hadith Number: 10809
It is narrated from Yazid bin Abi Ubaid that Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) informed him that he set out from Madinah Munawwarah to go towards Ghabah. When he was in the valley or on the path of Ghabah, he met the son of Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him). He said,“Good for you, what has happened to you?”He replied,“The camels of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) have been looted.”I asked,“Who looted them?”He informed,“The people of Ghatafan and Fazara.”Sayyiduna Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Upon hearing this, I loudly called out three times,“Ya Sabahah!”My voice was so loud and sharp that it reached the people between the two Harrahs of Madinah. Then I ran after those people until I caught up with them. They had already taken possession of the camels. I began shooting arrows at them and kept reciting this rajaz:“I am the son of Akwa’, and today is the day of the destruction of the vile ones.”Sayyiduna Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Before they could go anywhere to drink water, I rescued the camels from them. I returned with the camels and met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I said,“O Messenger of Allah! Those people are still thirsty, and I reached them before they could drink water. Please pursue them.”The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“O son of Akwa’! You have already prevailed over them, now be gentle. Their people are hosting them.”

Iyas bin Salamah bin Akwa narrates from his father Salamah bin Akwa, who said: During the time of Hudaybiyyah, we came to Madinah Munawwarah with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah’s (peace and blessings be upon him) slave, Rabah (may Allah be pleased with him), and I set out with his camel. I wanted to race Talhah bin Ubaidullah’s (may Allah be pleased with him) horse alongside the camel. In the early morning darkness, Abdur Rahman bin Uyainah Fazari attacked the camels of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He killed their shepherd. He and his companions, who were mounted on horses, drove the camels away. I said,“O Rabah! Mount this horse and take it to Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) and go inform the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that his animals have been looted.”I myself stood on a hillock, faced Madinah, and called out“Ya Sabahah!”three times. Taking my bow and sword, I began to pursue them. I kept shooting arrows at them, wounding them wherever the trees were dense, and whenever a horseman turned towards me, I would sit behind a tree and start shooting arrows again. Whenever any horseman turned towards me, I would wound his horse. I kept showering arrows upon them and recited this rajaz (poetic chant):
ANA IBNUL AKWA‘ WAL-YAWMU YAWMUR-RUDDA‘ (I am the son of Akwa‘, and today is the day of the destruction of the cowards.)
Whenever I encountered any of them, I would shoot an arrow at him, and my arrow would strike him, embedding itself in his shoulder, and I would say:
ANA IBNUL AKWA‘ WAL-YAWMU YAWMUR-RUDDA‘ (I am the son of Akwa‘, and today is the day of the destruction of the cowards.)
Whenever I was in a cluster of trees, I would shower them with arrows, and when narrow paths came, I would climb up the mountain and start rolling stones down upon them. This continued between them and me. I kept pursuing them and reciting rajaz until Allah, the Exalted, enabled me to recover all the camels that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had, and I left them behind the enemy. I kept showering arrows upon them until, to lighten their load, they threw away more than thirty spears and more than thirty cloaks. Whatever they threw away, I would place a stone on it as a marker and gather those items on the path of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When the day had fully risen, Uyainah bin Badr Fazari came to their aid. At that time, they were passing through a narrow path. I climbed up the mountain. Uyainah said to them,“I see you in a bad state.”They replied,“All this trouble is because of him. He has been pursuing us since morning. He has taken all our belongings from us and left them behind.”Uyainah said,“He surely knows that his companions are coming from behind. If it were not so, he would have left you. Let some of you go towards him.”So, four men among them got up to go towards him and climbed the mountain. I called out to them in a loud voice,“Do you know who I am?”They said,“Tell us, who are you?”I said,“I am the son of Akwa‘. By the One who has honored Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) immensely, none of you can catch me, and whoever among you I wish to catch cannot escape from my hands.”One of them said,“That is indeed the case.”Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says,“I sat calmly in my place until I saw the horsemen of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) coming through the trees. Akhram Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him) was at the front, and the horseman of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him), was behind him, and behind him was Miqdad Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him). Seeing this, the polytheists fled in panic, and I descended from the mountain and came before Akhram (may Allah be pleased with him) and, holding the reins of his horse, said, ‘Akhram! Be cautious of these people. I fear they may snatch you away. Wait until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions arrive.’ Akhram (may Allah be pleased with him) said, ‘O Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him)! If you believe in Allah and the Hereafter and are certain that Paradise and Hell are true, then do not stand between me and martyrdom.’ Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says, ‘Hearing this, I let go of his horse’s reins. He clashed with Abdur Rahman bin Uyainah, who kept attacking him repeatedly. They exchanged two spear thrusts each. Akhram (may Allah be pleased with him) wounded Abdur Rahman’s horse’s legs, and Abdur Rahman killed him with a spear thrust. After that, Abdur Rahman mounted Akhram’s (may Allah be pleased with him) horse. Then Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) encountered him. They also exchanged spear thrusts. Abu Qatadah’s (may Allah be pleased with him) horse was wounded, but he killed Abdur Rahman. Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) then mounted Akhram’s (may Allah be pleased with him) horse. I again started pursuing the enemy and went so far ahead that I could not even see the dust of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the enemy, just before sunset, reached a valley called Qard, where there was some water. They intended to drink water there. Meanwhile, they saw me running after them. They left from there and hurriedly took the narrow mountain path. The name of this mountain path is Thaniyyah Dhi Bi’r. The sun had set. I encountered one of the polytheists and, shooting an arrow at him, said:
ANA IBNUL AKWA‘ WAL-YAWMU YAWMUR-RUDDA‘ (I am the son of Akwa‘, and today is the day of the destruction of the cowards.)
He said,“May Akwa‘’s mother lose him (i.e., may he die)! Have you been pursuing us since morning?”I said,“Enemy of Allah! Yes, I have been showering arrows upon you since morning.”And with that, I shot another arrow at him. Both arrows struck him, and they left behind two more horses. I took those two horses and headed towards the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) was at the spring of Dhi Qard, where I had driven away the enemy. I saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was there with his five hundred devoted companions. And the camel I had left behind, Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) had slaughtered one of them and was roasting its liver and hump for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I reached the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said,“O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), if you permit, I will take a hundred of your companions and attack the disbelievers in the darkness and kill them all.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him), are you ready to do this?”He said,“By the One who has honored you (peace and blessings be upon him), I am ready for this task.”Hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled so much that I saw his blessed molar teeth in the light of the fire. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“At this time, they are being entertained in the region of Ghatafan.”Later, a man from Banu Ghatafan came and informed that those people passed by a certain Ghatafani, who slaughtered a camel for them. While they were skinning it, they saw dust rising in the distance, so they left the camel and fled. When morning came, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“Today, the best among our horsemen is Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him), and the best among the foot soldiers is Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him).”So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a share with both the foot soldiers and the horsemen. Then, when returning to Madinah Munawwarah, he had me ride behind him on his camel, Adhba’. When there was still time left before we reached Madinah Munawwarah at forenoon, there was an Ansari among the people who was very swift; no one could outpace him in a race. He started calling out,“Is there anyone who will race me to Madinah Munawwarah? Is there anyone who will compete with me?”He repeated this several times. I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), riding behind him on his mount. I said to him,“Can you not respect an honorable person, nor fear a person of dignity?”He said,“I am inviting everyone except the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to this race.”So I said,“O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), may my parents be sacrificed for you, allow me to race him.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“As you wish.”I said,“I will compete with him.”The man jumped down from his mount, and I also moved my legs and jumped down from the camel. Then, for a stage or two, I deliberately ran slowly to save my breath and not get winded. After that, I ran and caught up with him, and, striking him between his shoulders from behind, said,“By Allah, I have outpaced you.”I said these words or something similar. Hearing this, he laughed and said,“I thought so too,”until we reached Madinah Munawwarah.

Chapter on How the Prophet ﷺ Entered Khaybar, That It Was Taken by Force, and His Marriage to Safiyyah bint Huyayy ibn Akhtab, Chief of Qurayza and Nadir
Hadith Number: 10811

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) attacked Khaybar, so we performed the Fajr prayer in the darkness near Khaybar. After that, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted his ride, and I and Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) mounted one ride together. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took us along and began walking through the streets of Khaybar. While walking, my knee was touching the thigh of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and his cloak was slightly lifted from his thighs, and I was seeing the whiteness of his thighs. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the settlement of Khaybar, he said: Allahu Akbar, Khaybar is ruined. Whenever we descend into the courtyard of a people, the morning of those who have been warned is evil for them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated these words three times. The Jews came out for their work, and upon seeing this scene, they said: This is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his army. Thus, we attacked Khaybar and conquered it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gathered the captives in one place. Then Sayyiduna Dihyah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Prophet of Allah! Grant me a slave-girl from among the captives. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Go and take a slave-girl. He took Safiyyah bint Huyayy into his possession, but a man came and said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): You have given the daughter of the chief of Banu Qurayza and Banu Nadir to Dihyah (may Allah be pleased with him). By Allah! She is only suitable for you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Call Dihyah and tell him to bring her. Sayyiduna Dihyah (may Allah be pleased with him) brought Safiyyah with him. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Safiyyah, he said: Dihyah! Take another captive from among the captives. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) freed Safiyyah and married her. While still on the way, Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) prepared her and presented her to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at night. In the morning, the marriage of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had taken place. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the companions: Whoever has anything, let him bring it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spread a leather dining sheet. Someone brought cheese, someone brought dates, someone brought ghee, and someone brought sattu (roasted barley flour). The companions mixed all these things and prepared food. This was the wedding feast (walimah) of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that Marhab, the Jew, on the day of Khaybar, challenged my uncle (Sayyiduna ‘Amir) to single combat, saying:
“Qad ‘alimat Khaybaru anni Marhabun
Shaki as-silahi batalun mujarrabun
Idha al-hurubu aqbalat talahhabu”
Khaybar knows well that I am Marhab,
Armed, a warrior, and experienced.
When battles flare up, I turn towards them.
My uncle ‘Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) came out to face him and said:
“Qad ‘alimat Khaybaru anni ‘Amirun
Shaki as-silahi batalun mughāmirun”
Khaybar knows well that I am ‘Amir,
Fully prepared, brave, and one who risks his life.
Both struck at each other once; Marhab’s sword hit ‘Amir’s shield, and ‘Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) bent down and attacked him, but his own shield struck the large vein of his own leg, cutting the vein, and due to this he passed away. Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I met some people who said that ‘Amir’s deeds have been wasted, he has committed suicide. Hearing this, I came weeping to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Have ‘Amir’s deeds been wasted? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Who said this? I replied: Some of your companions, O Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever said this, said wrong; rather, for him there is double reward. (Salamah, may Allah be pleased with him, says that) when ‘Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) set out towards Khaybar, he would recite rajaz poetry along with the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was also with them, and ‘Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) was chanting as follows:
“By Allah! If it were not for Allah, we would not have been guided,
Nor would we have given charity, nor prayed.
Indeed, those who have transgressed against us,
When they intend mischief, we refuse it.
And we are not independent of Your bounty.
So make our feet firm if we meet (the enemy),
And send down tranquility upon us.”
Upon hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Who is this? He said: O Messenger of Allah! I am ‘Amir. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May your Lord forgive you. Sayyiduna Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) specifically prayed for someone’s forgiveness on such occasions, that person was certainly martyred. Sayyiduna ‘Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) heard the Prophet’s words and said: O Messenger of Allah! If only you had let us benefit from ‘Amir for a little longer; he advanced and attained martyrdom. Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Then the Prophet of Allah sent me to Sayyiduna ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Today I will give this flag to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and Allah and His Messenger love him. His eyes were sore; I brought him along, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) applied his blessed saliva to his eyes, and they were cured at once. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) handed him the flag. Marhab, the Jew, came forward, brandishing his sword and reciting this rajaz:
“Faqad ‘alimat Khaybaru anni Marhabun
Shaki as-silahi batalun mujarrabun
Idha al-hurubu aqbalat talahhabu”
Khaybar knows well that I am Marhab,
I am armed, a warrior, and experienced.
When battles flare up, I turn towards them.
In response, Sayyiduna ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“Ana alladhi sammatni ummi Haydara
Kalaythi ghabatin karihi al-manzara
Ufiihim bis-sa’i kayla as-sandara”
I am the one whom my mother named Haydar (lion),
A lion of the forests, fierce in appearance,
I will repay them with the measure of the spear.
So he struck Marhab’s head with his sword and, by his hand, Khaybar was conquered.
“Qad ‘alimat Khaybaru anni Marhabun

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) camped near the fort of Khaybar, he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the flag into the hand of Sayyiduna Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). Some Muslims also went with him. They fought with the people of Khaybar, but nothing resulted from it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tomorrow I will give this flag to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and Allah and His Messenger love him." When the next day came, he (peace and blessings be upon him) called for Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). His eyes were hurting, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) applied his blessed saliva to his eyes and handed him the flag. People also went with him, and they fought with the people of Khaybar. Marhab, the Jew, came forward reciting this rajaz:
Indeed, Khaybar knows that I am Marhab,
Armed with weapons, a valiant and experienced warrior,
Sometimes I thrust with the spear, sometimes I strike,
When wars flare up, I am attentive.
Khaybar knows well that I am Marhab,
I am armed, a warrior, and experienced,
Sometimes I strike with the spear, sometimes with the sword,
When battles ignite, I turn my attention to them.
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and he exchanged a blow each. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) struck his sword on his skull so that the sword split his head and reached his jaws, and the entire army heard the intensity of that blow. Before everyone could reach Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), Allah Almighty had already granted him victory.

Mawla of the Messenger, Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He says, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sent Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) by giving him his flag, we also went along with him. When he reached near the fort, the people of the fort came out to confront him. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) fought with them. A Jew also attacked him, and it so happened that Sayyiduna Ali’s (may Allah be pleased with him) shield fell from his hand. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) grabbed a door lying near the fort and made it his shield. He continued to fight the Jews with it until victory was achieved, and after finishing the battle, he threw it away with his own hand. It was so heavy that when eight of us tried to turn it over, we could not even turn it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that Marhab, the Jew, came out of the fortress armed with weapons, reciting this rajaz (war poetry):
So Khaybar knows well that I am Marhab,
Armed with weapons, a tried and tested warrior.
Sometimes I thrust with the spear, sometimes I strike,
When wars flare up, I turn my attention to them.
My defense is for those who do not even dare to come near me.
And he was coming forward, issuing a challenge: "Is there anyone to face me?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who will go out to face him?" Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! I am ready to go out to face him. By Allah! I desire to take revenge on him, for yesterday he killed my brother." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then you go forth. O Allah! Help him against his opponent."
When the two of them came close to each other, a very old and large tree full of gum came between them. Each of them would take cover behind the tree to avoid the other’s attack. When one of them would be behind the tree, the other would strike with his sword and cut its branches, until they came face to face with each other. The tree stood between them as if a man were standing, and there was no branch left on it.
Then Marhab attacked Muhammad bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) and struck with his sword. Sayyiduna Muhammad (may Allah be pleased with him) blocked the blow with his shield, and Marhab’s sword struck the shield and got stuck in it. Then Muhammad bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) struck him and killed him.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was granted victory in the Battle of Khaybar, Sayyiduna Hajjaj bin Alat (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: O Messenger of Allah! My family and wealth are in Makkah, and I have a considerable amount of wealth there. I wish to go there to retrieve it, so do I have your permission to say some things against you merely to please the disbelievers? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him permission to say whatever he wished. He went to Makkah and visited his wife, saying: Gather all the wealth you have in one place; I want to buy the spoils of war taken from Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions. They have been defeated and their wealth has been plundered. This news spread throughout Makkah. The Muslims there became ashamed because of this news, while the polytheists began to express joy and happiness. When this news reached Abbas, he was so shocked that he collapsed and could not get up. Maqsim narrated that he took hold of one of his sons, Qutham, lay down, and placed him on his chest, saying: O Qutham, come to me. O Qutham, come to me. You resemble Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him); your nose is also slightly raised like his. He is the Prophet of Allah, who has bestowed countless favors upon creation. Whoever Allah humiliates and disgraces will remain humiliated and disgraced. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that then Abbas sent a slave to Hajjaj bin Alat (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked: What news have you brought, and what are you saying? Whatever you are saying, Allah Almighty had promised them something much better than that. Sayyiduna Hajjaj bin Alat (may Allah be pleased with him) said to his messenger slave: Convey my greetings to Abu al-Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him) and tell him to meet me privately in one of his houses; I have good news for him. The slave returned, and when he reached the door of the house, he said: O Abu al-Fadl! Congratulations to you on good news. Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) immediately jumped up with joy and kissed him between the eyes. The slave informed him of what Hajjaj bin Alat had said, and Abbas set him free. Then Sayyiduna Hajjaj (may Allah be pleased with him) came and informed him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had conquered Khaybar and obtained the wealth of the Jews as spoils of war, and according to Allah’s command, the spoils obtained there had been distributed among all the entitled parties, and the Messenger of Allah had chosen Safiyyah, the daughter of Huyayy, for himself. He (peace and blessings be upon him) had given her the choice: if she wished, he would set her free and marry her, or if she wished, she could return to her family. She chose that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) should set her free and marry her. I have only come here to collect my left-behind wealth; I wish to gather it and take it away, and I had sought permission from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for this, and he granted me permission that I may say whatever I wish in this matter merely to please the disbelievers. Keep my words hidden for three days, after which you may mention them to people as you see fit. Accordingly, whatever jewelry and belongings Hajjaj’s wife had, she gathered it all and handed it over to him. Then he took the goods and left. Three days later, Abbas came to Hajjaj’s wife and asked: What did your husband do? She replied that he had left on such-and-such a day, and said: O Abu al-Fadl! May Allah never disgrace you. The things that reached you were extremely hard for us to bear. He said: Yes, Allah will never disgrace me, and thanks be to Allah, what has happened is what we desired. Allah has granted victory at Khaybar through His Messenger, and the spoils obtained there have been distributed according to Allah’s command, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has chosen Safiyyah bint Huyayy for himself, and then said to her: If you wish to go to your family, you may go. She said: By Allah, I believe all your words are true. Abbas further said: I am telling the truth; what I am telling you is exactly what happened. After this, Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the gatherings of Quraysh. Whenever he passed by them, they would say: O Abu al-Fadl! May you have goodness. He would say: Thanks be to Allah, I have received nothing but goodness. Hajjaj bin Alat (may Allah be pleased with him) informed me that Allah has granted victory at Khaybar through His Messenger, and the spoils obtained there have been distributed according to Allah’s prescribed shares, and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has kept Safiyyah bint Huyayy for himself. Hajjaj (may Allah be pleased with him) had told me to keep these things hidden for three days; he had only come here to collect his wealth and belongings, which he took and left. The sadness that had spread among the Muslims because of Hajjaj’s words now returned to the polytheists, and they became sorrowful. The Muslims and others who had gone to Abbas’s house in grief and sadness now left and went to Abbas, and he informed them of the true situation. Upon hearing this in detail, all the Muslims became truly delighted, and all the grief and sorrow returned to the polytheists.
