It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that his mother, Sayyida Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her), sent him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a plate or an open container of dates. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to send handfuls of dates to his wives. After that, the remaining dates were eaten by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in such a manner that it was clearly apparent that he was in need of food.

It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to travel, he would draw lots among his wives, and the one whose name was drawn, he would take her along. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would allocate for each of his wives her night and her day, but Sayyida Sawda (may Allah be pleased with her) was an exception to this, because she had gifted her day and night to Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). The purpose of Sayyida Sawda (may Allah be pleased with her) was to seek the pleasure of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was present with Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) or with another wife, when another Mother of the Believers sent a bowl of food through her servant. The wife at whose house the Prophet was, struck the servant’s hand and broke the bowl. Seeing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Your mother has become jealous.”Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) picked up the two broken pieces of the bowl and joined them together, and began to put the food into the broken bowl, and said:“Eat, eat.”The other people present ate the food. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kept the servant and the bowl back. When they finished eating, he gave the servant another bowl and kept the broken bowl.
