Muawiyah bin Haidah Qushayri (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! With whom should I do good and maintain ties of kinship?" He replied, "With your mother." I asked, "Then with whom?" He said, "With your mother." I asked, "Then with whom?" He said, "With your mother." I asked, "Then with whom?" He said, "Then with your father, then with your relatives, then the closest among them, then those after them, step by step." .

Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is Hasan. Shu’bah has spoken about Bahz bin Hakeem, but according to the scholars of hadith, he is trustworthy. From him, Ma’mar, Thawri, Hammad bin Salamah, and many Imams of hadith have narrated.
2- In this chapter, there are also ahadith from Abu Hurairah, Abdullah bin Amr, Aisha, and Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with them).

‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Which deed is the best? He replied:“Performing prayer at its proper time.”I asked: O Messenger of Allah! Then which deed is better? He replied:“Treating parents with kindness.”I asked: O Messenger of Allah! Then which deed? He replied:“Striving in the path of Allah.”Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) became silent, and if I had asked more, he would have told me more. 1. Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is hasan sahih (good and authentic),
2- It has been narrated by Abu ‘Amr Shaybani, Shu’bah, and several others from Walid bin ‘Aizar,
3- This hadith has also come from Ibn Mas’ud through other chains via Abu ‘Amr Shaybani.

Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man came to him and said: "I have a wife, and my mother is ordering me to divorce her. (What should I do?)" Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The father is the middle gate of Paradise; if you wish, neglect this gate, and if you wish, protect it.'" 1. Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah sometimes said «إن امی» (my mother) and sometimes «إن أبی» (my father). Imam Tirmidhi says: This hadith is authentic.

Narrated from Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The pleasure of the Lord is in the pleasure of the father, and the displeasure of the Lord is in the displeasure of the father."

‘With this chain,’ a similar hadith is narrated from Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) (as a mawquf narration). Shu’bah did not narrate it as marfu‘, and this is more authentic. Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- The students of Shu’bah have narrated it mawqufan with the chain of «عن شعبة عن يعلى بن عطاء عن أبيه عن عبد الله بن عمرو» , and we do not know anyone except Khalid bin Harith who has narrated this hadith as marfu‘ from Shu’bah.
2- Khalid bin Harith is trustworthy and reliable. It is said: I have not seen anyone like Khalid bin Harith in Basra, nor anyone like Abdullah bin Idris in Kufa.
3- There is also a narration from Ibn Mas‘ud in this chapter.

'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakrah narrated from his father who said: " The messenger of Allah said: 'Shall I not tell you of the biggest of the major sins?' they said: 'Of course! O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'To join partners with Allah, and disobeying one's parents.'"He said: " He sat up, and he had been reclining. He said: 'And false testimony, or false speech.' And the Messenger of Allah would not stop saying it until we said (to ourselves): 'I wish that he would stop.'"

'Abdullah bin 'Amr narrated that: the Messenger of Allah said: "It is among the greatest of sins that a man should curse his parents." They said: "O Messenger of Allah! Does a man curse his parents?" He said: "Yes. He verbally abuses the father of a man, who in turn, verbally abuses his father, and he (retaliates and) curses his mother , so he curses his mother."

Ibn 'Umar narrated that: the Prophet said: "Among the most dutiful of deeds is that a man nurture relations with the people his father was friends with."

Al-Bara' bin Azib narrated that: the Prophet said: "The maternal aunt holds the same status as the mother."

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! A very great sin has been committed by me, is there any room for repentance for me? He asked: "Is your mother alive?" He said: No. He asked: Do you have a maternal aunt? He said: Yes. He said: "Treat her kindly." Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- In this chapter, ahadith have also been narrated from Ali and Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with them).
