Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“O Allah! Whoever oppresses the people of Madinah or frightens and threatens them, then You also frighten him. Upon such a person is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. Neither his obligatory worship is accepted nor his voluntary.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Indeed, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) declared Makkah (the Honored) as sacred and prayed for (its blessings), and I, like Ibrahim (peace be upon him), declare Madinah as sacred, and I pray for the (blessing of its measures) mudd and sa’ just as Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed for Makkah.”

Sayyiduna ‘Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared Madinah to be prohibited in all four directions up to one barid, such that its trees should not have their leaves shaken off (by sticks, etc.) nor should they be cut down, except that a stick may be cut for driving camels.

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pointed with his hand towards Madinah (Munawwarah) and said: "This is a sanctuary of peace."

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "It is not lawful for anyone to raise weapons for fighting in this (Medina)."

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Harshness, coarseness of the hearts, and roughness of temperament are among the people of the East, and faith is among the people of Hijaz."

Umair bin Aswad and Kathir bin Murrah Hadrami say that Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Ibn Simt say that Muslims will remain present on the earth until the Day of Resurrection, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A group from my Ummah will remain steadfast on the command of Allah, their opponents will not be able to harm them, they will continue to fight against their enemies, whenever one battle ends another will begin, Allah will continue to turn people's hearts away so that He may provide them sustenance (through war booty) from them, until the Day of Resurrection comes, as if they are pieces of a dark night, because of this they will become anxious, until they wear small coats of mail, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'These are the people of Sham (Greater Syria).' Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pointed towards Sham with his finger and scratched the ground (i.e., drew a line towards Sham), until it caused him discomfort."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A group from my Ummah will continue to fight for the truth until the command of Allah comes." O people of Sham! I think that you are that group.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“The people of the West (i.e., the people of Sham) will remain dominant until the Day of Resurrection.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Out of Allah's earth, His chosen land is the land of Sham, and in Sham there are many servants of Allah who are beloved to Allah the Exalted, and in my Ummah there is also a group who will enter Paradise without reckoning or punishment."
