Yahya bin Saeed says that we were sitting with Ali bin Hussain when a group of people from Kufa came. Ali said: O Iraqis! Love us for the sake of Islam. I heard from my father, who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O people! Do not elevate me above my status. (Remember that) Allah made me a servant before He made me a prophet." I mentioned this hadith before Saeed bin Musayyib, and he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was a servant even after becoming a prophet.

Sayyiduna Sayabah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said on the day of Hunayn: "I am the descendant of women named Atikah."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Some of Allah's angels roam about the earth; they convey to me the greetings (salam) of my ummah's individuals."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the noble leaders of the Quraysh gathered in Hatim. They made a pact among themselves in the names of Lat, Uzza, Na’ila, and Isaf that if they saw Muhammad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), all of them would attack him at once and would not turn back without killing him. The daughter of the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), came to him crying and said:“These Quraysh chiefs have made a pact among themselves that wherever they see you, they will attack you all at once and kill you. Each one of them has decided his share in your blood.”The Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said:“My daughter! Bring water for ablution.”The Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) performed ablution and went to them in the House of Allah. When they saw him, they said:“This is he (Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ).”Then they lowered their eyes, bowed their heads, remained standing in their places, and none of them looked at him or rushed towards him. The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) went to them, stood by them, took a handful of pebbles, and said:“Faces have become ugly.”Then he threw that handful at them. Whoever among them was hit by a pebble was killed in a state of disbelief on the day of Badr.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Abu Jahl said: "If I see (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him), I will trample his neck." It was said to him: "There he is (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him)." He replied: "I do not see him." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If he had done so, the angels would have seized him in front of everyone. If the Jews had wished for death, they would have died."

Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every prophet will have a cistern, and the prophets will boast among themselves about the number of people who come to them. I hope that the number of people who come to my cistern will be the greatest."

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "Will you not inform your wives that I have chosen you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has sent me as a conveyer (of the message), not as one who causes hardship (or distress)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would present himself to the people during the season of Hajj and say: "Is there any man who will take me to his people (with protection and guarantee), so that I may convey the message of my Lord to the people? For the Quraysh have prevented me from doing so."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I participated with my uncles in the pact of «مطيبين» when I was a boy. Even now, I would not be willing to break such a covenant in exchange for red camels."

Sayyiduna Aqil bin Abu Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Quraysh came to Abu Talib and said:“Do you not see Ahmad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم )? He causes us trouble in our gatherings and mosques, so stop him from causing us such harm.”He (Abu Talib) said to me:“Aqil! Call Muhammad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ).”I went and brought him. Abu Talib said:“My nephew! Your cousins have complained that you trouble them in their gatherings and mosques, so refrain from doing so.”The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) glanced towards the sky and said:“Even if you were to bring a flame (i.e., the sun) from the sky for me, I could not refrain from doing so.”Hearing this, Abu Talib said:“My nephew Muhammad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) is not a liar. All of you leave from here.”
