مختصر صحيح بخاري
Mukhtasar Sahih Bukhari
Reciting any good supplication after Tashahhud.
The hadith about the tashahhud of 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) has just been mentioned (see the chapter: One should also recite the tashahhud in the second sitting). Here in this narration, at the end of the hadith, it is stated that after this, whatever supplication he finds good and wishes to ask for, he may ask for it.
Ending prayer with Salam.
Umm al-Mu'mineen Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer and said the salam, as soon as he had completed his salam, the women would stand up (and leave), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would remain seated for a short while before standing up himself (that is, he would stay seated there). Imam Zuhri says: I think—and full knowledge is with Allah Almighty—that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would remain seated only so that the women could leave and the men, after finishing the prayer, would not encounter them.
When imam says Salam, followers should also say Salam.
‘Sayyiduna Itban bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that’ we prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and when he (peace be upon him) said the salam (to end the prayer), we also said the salam.
Remembering Allah after prayer.
Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that when the people finished the obligatory prayer, raising the voice in remembrance (of Allah) was (practiced) in the era of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) also said that when I used to hear the people returning while remembering (Allah), I would know that the prayer had been completed.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that some poor people came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "The wealthy have obtained high ranks and everlasting bliss. They pray as we pray, and they fast as we fast (in other words, they participate in the acts of worship that we do), and they have more wealth, with which they perform Hajj, ‘Umrah, strive in jihad, and give charity." So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you something, that if you act upon it, you will catch up with those who have surpassed you, and no one after you will overtake you, and you will be the best among those with whom you are, except for one who does the same as you? So after every prayer, recite Subhan Allah thirty-three times, Alhamdulillah thirty-three times, and Allahu Akbar thirty-three times." The narrator says that after this, we differed among ourselves, and some of us said that we should recite Tasbih thirty-three times, Tahmid thirty-three times, and Takbir thirty-four times. So I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) again, and he said: "Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar — all should be recited thirty-three times each."
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite (this supplication) after every obligatory prayer:“There is no deity except Allah, He is One, He has no partner, His is the dominion and for Him is all praise, and He is powerful over everything. O Allah! There is none who can withhold what You give, and none who can give what You withhold, and the effort of the striving person is of no benefit before You.”
Imam facing people after finishing prayer.
Narrated Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him): Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished a prayer, he would turn his blessed face towards us.
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led the morning prayer at Hudaybiyyah after a night in which it had rained. When he finished the prayer, he turned to the people and said: "Do you know what your Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, has said?" They replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "He has said: 'Some of My servants have become believers in Me, and some have become disbelievers.' Those who said, 'We have been given rain by the grace and mercy of Allah,' such people have believed in Me (i.e., Allah) and disbelieved in the stars (and the like). And those who said, 'We have been given rain because of such-and-such a star,' they have disbelieved in Me (i.e., Allah the Exalted) and believed in the stars."
Imam leaving quickly after prayer for a need.
Narrated Uqbah bin Al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him): I offered the Asr prayer behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Madinah. He (peace be upon him) finished the prayer with salam and stood up quickly, stepping over the necks of the people, and went to one of his wives’ rooms. The people were startled by his haste. When he (peace be upon him) returned and saw their astonishment at his speed, he (peace be upon him) said:“I remembered some gold that was with us, and I disliked that it should distract me from the remembrance of Allah, so I ordered it to be distributed.”
Turning right and left after finishing prayer.
Narrated Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): None of you should give a share to Satan from his prayer by thinking that it is necessary for him (after the prayer) to turn only to his right side. Indeed, I have often seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turning to his left side.
