Mukhtasar Sahih Bukhari
Sanctity of Madinah
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Medina is a sanctuary from here (Mount ‘Ir) to there (Thawr); its trees should not be cut, nor should any oppression or innovation be committed here. Whoever invents any act of oppression or innovation here, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people (and in one narration: whoever gives shelter to an innovator, upon him as well)."
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The land between the two rocky boundaries of Madinah has been declared a sanctuary by my tongue." (Further) he says that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the tribe of Banu Harithah and said: "I think you have gone outside the sanctuary." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) looked around and said: "No! You are within the sanctuary."
Narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We have nothing except the Book of Allah and this scroll which has been transmitted from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). (It also contains this subject): "From the mountain of 'Ayr in Madinah to such-and-such place (Thawr) is a sanctuary (Haram). Whoever introduces an innovation (bid'ah) here, acts upon it, or gives refuge to an innovator, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. Neither any voluntary worship nor any obligatory worship will be accepted from him." And he said: "The covenant of any one Muslim is sufficient among you; then whoever breaks the covenant of any Muslim, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. Neither any voluntary worship nor any obligatory worship will be accepted from him. And whoever (a slave) leaves his master and, without his permission, takes another as master, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. Neither any voluntary worship nor any obligatory worship will be accepted from him."
Virtue and greatness of Madinah; it expels evil people
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said (before migration): "I have been commanded to go to a town which will overcome all other towns. It is called 'Yathrib', and it is Madinah. It expels evil people just as a furnace removes impurities from iron."
Madinah's name is "Taba" (pure place)
Sayyiduna Abu Humayd Sa‘idi (may Allah be pleased with him) says that we returned from Tabuk with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When we approached near Madinah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This is 'Taba'." (i.e., he referred to Madinah as 'Taba').
Consequence for one who dislikes Madinah
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "(Near the Day of Judgment, a time will come when) people will leave Madinah in a very good condition, and none will remain there except wild animals, birds, and beasts. The last two shepherds from the tribe of Muzaina will come to Madinah to drive away their goats, and they will find Madinah filled with wild animals and beasts. When they reach Thaniyyat al-Wada', they will fall down on their faces (i.e., they will die and the Hour will be established)."
Sufyan bin Abu Zuhair (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "(In the future) Yemen will be conquered, and there will be some people who will drive their mounts fast and will take their families and those who obey them from Madinah to Yemen, even though Madinah would be better for them if they understood. And Sham will be conquered, and there will be some people who will drive their mounts fast and will take their families and those who obey them from Madinah to Sham, even though Madinah would be better for them if they understood. And Iraq will be conquered, and there will be some people who will drive their mounts fast and will take their families and those who obey them from Madinah to Iraq, even though Madinah would be better for them if they understood."
Near the Hour, faith will retreat to Madinah
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Iman (faith) will gather towards Madinah just as a snake gathers towards its hole."
Sin of deceiving the people of Madinah
The conqueror of Persia and Iran, Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say:“Whoever deceives the people of Madinah will dissolve just as salt dissolves in water.”
Description of Madinah's hills
Narrated Usama (may Allah be pleased with him): (One day) the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) climbed one of the hills of Madinah and said: "Do you see what I am seeing? Indeed, I see the places where trials will descend among your houses (they will be so many) like the drops of a heavy rain."
