Drinking from canals by humans and animals is allowed.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“The horse is a source of reward for some people, a means of protection for some, and a cause of sin for others. So, the person for whom it is a source of reward is the one who keeps it (the horse) in the way of Allah (for jihad), then ties it with a long rope in a pasture or garden. For every area of the pasture or garden that the horse roams, he will receive good deeds in return. And if the horse’s rope breaks and it jumps over one or two elevations, then its steps and its droppings will all be counted as good deeds for him. And if the horse passes by a stream and drinks from it, even though the person did not intend to let it drink from that stream, he will still receive good deeds. Thus, such a horse is a source of reward for this reason. And the person who keeps a horse to avoid begging and to earn money, and he does not forget Allah’s right in his own self and in his riding, then this horse is a means of protection (i.e., safety) for that person. And the person who keeps a horse merely for pride, showing off, and enmity towards the Muslims, then that horse will be a burden for that person.”And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about keeping donkeys, so he said:“Nothing has been revealed to me regarding them except this comprehensive and unparalleled verse: ‘So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.’”(Surah Az-Zalzalah: 7-8)

Selling wood and grass is allowed.
(Amir al-Mu’minin) Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I received a she-camel as booty on the day of Badr with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave me another she-camel as well. So one day, I made both of those she-camels sit at the door of an Ansari, and I intended to load them with izkhir (a type of grass) so that I could sell it, and at that time, a goldsmith from Banu Qaynuqa’ was also with me, and I wanted to take his help for the wedding feast (walima) of Sayyida Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her). And (Sayyiduna) Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) was at that time drinking wine inside that house. There was a singing woman with him, and she was singing:“Get up, Hamza! For the fat, fresh, young she-camels.”So he took a sword and turned towards both of those she-camels, and he cut (split) their humps and ripped open their bellies, then took out their livers. (Sayyiduna) Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I saw such a scene that terrified me, then I went to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and at that time (Sayyiduna) Zaid bin Haritha (may Allah be pleased with him) was also with him. So I narrated this news to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he came out. Accordingly, Sayyiduna Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) and I went along with him. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to them and became very angry with them. Then (Hamza), in that state of intoxication, raised his eyes and said,“You people are nothing but the slaves of my forefathers.”Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned back on his heels and left from there, and this incident occurred before the prohibition of wine (and music).

Granting land.
`Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to allot land in Bahrain to the Ansar, but the Ansar said, "(We will not take it) unless our Muhajir brothers are given the same." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon you will see others being preferred over you after me, so be patient until you meet me."

Ruling on someone having a path or spring in another's garden.
Narrated Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever buys date-palm trees after they have been pollinated, their fruits will belong to the seller, unless the buyer stipulates otherwise. And whoever buys a slave and the slave has some property, that property will belong to the seller, unless the buyer has stipulated otherwise.
