مختصر صحيح مسلم
Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim
Description of the Prophet's Cistern, its vastness, and his Ummah coming to it.
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What are the vessels of the Hawd (Pond) like?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the vessels of this Hawd are more numerous than the stars in the sky, and (more than) the dark night without clouds. They are the vessels of Paradise. Whoever drinks from this Hawd will never feel thirsty again (that is, until he enters Paradise). Two streams from Paradise flow into this Hawd. Whoever drinks from it will not feel thirsty, and its length and width are equal, as much as the distance from Aylah to Oman (both are cities in Syria). Its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey."
Narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: I will be pushing people away from my Hawd (Pond) for the people of Yemen. I will strike with my stick until its water flows towards the people of Yemen. (From this, the great virtue of the people of Yemen is derived. They helped the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in this world and protected him from enemies, so the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, will also help them in the Hereafter, and they will be the first to drink from the Hawd al-Kawthar.) Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: What is the width of this Hawd? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Like from here to Oman. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: What is its water like? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. Two channels pour water into it, which are supplied with water from Paradise; one channel is of gold and the other of silver.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out one day and offered the funeral prayer for the martyrs of Uhud, then came towards the pulpit and said: I will be your predecessor and a witness over you, and by Allah, I am seeing the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar at this moment. And I have been given the keys of the treasures of the earth, or the keys of the earth. And by Allah, I do not fear that you will become polytheists after me, but I fear that you will compete with one another for the world and become jealous of one another.
Description of the Prophet's appearance, mission, and age.
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was neither very tall nor very short, neither completely white nor completely wheat-colored. The hair of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was neither completely curly nor completely straight. Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, honored him with Prophethood at the age of forty. Then he (peace be upon him) stayed in Makkah for ten years and in Madinah for ten years, and at the end of his sixtieth year, Allah Almighty took him (peace be upon him) (i.e., he passed away), and at that time there were not even twenty white hairs in his blessed head and beard.
Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was of medium height and there was a wide gap between his shoulders (i.e., his chest was broad). His hair was thick and reached his earlobes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) used to wear a red garment (i.e., one with red and yellow stripes). I have not seen anyone more beautiful than him (peace and blessings be upon him).
Sayyiduna Abu Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and now, on the earth, there is no one left among those who saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) except me. (The narrator of the hadith, Jariri) says: I asked him, "You saw him—what was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) like?" He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was white in complexion, with a tinge of fairness, of medium height, and had a well-proportioned body. Imam Muslim said that Abu Tufail died in the year 100 AH, and among the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he was the last to die.
About the Seal of Prophethood.
‘Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that’ the front part of the head and beard of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had become white. When he (peace be upon him) applied oil, the whiteness was not visible, and his (peace be upon him) beard was very thick. A person asked,“Was the blessed face of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) long like a sword?”Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said,“No, the blessed face of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was round like the sun and the moon.”And I saw the seal of Prophethood on his (peace be upon him) shoulder, like a pigeon’s egg, and its color matched the color of his body.
Sayyiduna Sa’ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) says that my maternal aunt took me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! My nephew is very ill." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand on my head and prayed for blessing. Then he performed ablution, and I drank the leftover water from his ablution. Then I stood behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and I saw the Seal of Prophethood between his two shoulders, like a raised lump (or like the egg of a partridge, which is a kind of bird).
‘Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sarjis (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and ate bread, meat, or tharid with him. (The narrator of the hadith, Asim) says that I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him),“Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pray for your forgiveness?”He said,“Yes, and for you as well.”Then he recited this verse:“And ask forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women.”Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that then I went behind him (the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and I saw the Seal of Prophethood near his shoulder, at the bone between his two shoulders, it was like a closed fist and on it were moles like warts.
Description of the Prophet's face, eyes, and heel.
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had a wide mouth (because for men, a wide mouth is considered good and for women, it is considered undesirable), there were reddish streaks in his eyes, and his heels had little flesh. (Shu’bah) asked Samak,“What is ‘Dali’ al-fam’?”He replied,“A large face.”Then (Shu’bah) asked,“What is ‘Ashkal al-‘ayn’?”He replied,“Eyes with long slits (but Samak’s statement here is incorrect, and the correct meaning is that there was redness mixed in the whiteness).”Shu’bah asked,“What is ‘Manhus al-‘aqibayn’?”He replied,“Heels with little flesh.”
