Statement about giving ghusl to the deceased
Hadith Number: 263
Lady Umm ‘Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: One of the daughters of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) told us:“Wash her with water and lotus leaves an odd number of times, three times or five times, or more if you feel it necessary, and in the last washing add camphor or a little camphor to the water. When you have finished, inform me.”When we finished, we informed him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) threw his waist-wrapper towards us and said:“Wrap her body with it.”

Statement about women's pledge and prohibition of wailing
Hadith Number: 265
Lady Umm ‘Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Among the things we were pledged upon was that we would not wail (over the dead). Only five women among us fulfilled this: Umm Sulaym, the wife of Mu‘adh bin Abi Sabrah (may Allah be pleased with him), or the wife of Mu‘adh (may Allah be pleased with him), the daughter of Abu Sabrah, and another woman. And she was not prepared for it until the day of Harrah, when the women participated in it until she stood up; they would not prepare themselves for it.

Lady Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: When this verse was revealed: "When believing women come to you to pledge that they will not associate anything with Allah, will not steal, will not commit adultery... and will not disobey you in what is right," she (Umm Atiyyah) said: Lamentation (wailing) was also included in this. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Except for the women of such-and-such tribe, for they helped me in the days of ignorance, so it is necessary for me to help them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Except for the women of such-and-such tribe."

Supplication to be recited before salam in the final tashahhud
Hadith Number: 271
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach him this supplication just as he used to teach him a surah of the Qur'an: "O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, I seek refuge in You from the trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal), and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death."

Abu Ma'bad narrated: Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) led the funeral prayer, then said Allahu Akbar, then recited Surah Al-Fatihah and recited it aloud, then after that said three takbirs, and said: I recited aloud so that you may know that this is the Sunnah.
