Chapter: The Reward for Parents
Hadith Number: 11
Saeed bin Abu Burdah says that I heard my father narrate that Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saw a man from Yemen performing Tawaf of the Ka'bah, and he had his mother on his back, and he was reciting these verses: "I am a trained camel for my mother; if her mounts are frightened, I will not be frightened." Then he asked Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): What do you think, have I repaid my mother? He said: No, not even for a single breath (of her labor). Then Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) performed Tawaf and, coming to Maqam Ibrahim, offered two rak'ahs and said: O son of Abu Musa! Every two rak'ahs become an expiation for the sins committed before them.

Abu Murrah says that whenever Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to go somewhere, he would stand at the door of his mother’s (house) and say: O my dear mother! Peace be upon you, and the mercy and blessings of Allah. Then his mother would reply: And peace be upon you, and the mercy and blessings of Allah. He (Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him) would say: May Allah have mercy on you as you raised me in my childhood. In response, she would say: May Allah have mercy on you as you have treated me kindly in my old age. And when he returned, he would do the same.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Shall I not inform you about the greatest of sins?" He said this three times. They said: O Messenger of Allah! Please do tell us. He (peace be upon him) said: "Associating partners with Allah and disobedience to parents." The Prophet (peace be upon him) was reclining, then he sat up straight and said: "Beware! (Also) false speech!" He (peace be upon him) kept repeating this so much that I thought (in my heart): I wish he would stop.

Chapter: Allah Curses Whoever Curses His Parents
Hadith Number: 17
Hazrat Abu Tufail (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked whether the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had told him anything special that he had not told to other people. He replied: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not tell us anything that he did not tell the people, except for what is in the sheath of my sword. Then he took out a piece of paper on which was written:“The curse of Allah is upon the one who sacrifices for other than Allah, the curse of Allah is upon the one who steals the boundary marks of the land, the curse of Allah is upon the one who curses his parents, and the curse of Allah is upon the one who gives shelter to an innovator.”

Chapter: Obedience to Parents Unless in Sin
Hadith Number: 18
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me with nine things: Do not associate anything with Allah, even if you are cut into pieces or burned. Never deliberately leave the obligatory prayer; whoever deliberately leaves the obligatory prayer, (Allah's) protection is removed from him. Never drink alcohol, for it is the key to every evil. Obey your parents; if they command you to give up your worldly possessions, then give them up for their sake. Never dispute with those in authority, even if you think you are in the right. Do not flee from the battlefield, even if you are killed and your companions flee. Spend on your family in times of prosperity. Do not always keep a stick raised over your household. And keep warning them about Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.
