Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Allah is pleased with you for three things and displeased with you for three things. The three things with which He is pleased are: that you worship Him and do not associate anything with Him, that you all hold fast together to the rope of Allah, and that you give good counsel to the one whom Allah has appointed as your ruler. And He dislikes for you «قيل و قال» (hearsay, it was said, someone said, etc.), asking too many questions, and wasting wealth.”

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said regarding the statement of Allah, the Exalted: «وَمَا أَنفَقْتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ يُخْلِفُهُ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ» [سبأ: 39] "And whatever you spend, He will replace it, and He is the best of providers." He said: Its meaning is that there should be neither extravagance nor miserliness.

It is narrated from Dawud bin Qais, may Allah have mercy on him, that he said: I saw the chambers of the pure wives, which were made of palm branches. From the outside, they were covered with hair-cloth. I think that the width of the house, from the door of the chamber to the door of the other house, was about six or seven handspans. When I estimated the house from inside, it was ten handspans. Its roof was about eight or seven handspans high. And when I stood at the door of Sayyidah Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, I saw that it faced towards the west.
