Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I heard a man from Banu Salamah narrating this hadith in the presence of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): Sayyiduna Ka’b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) had a slave girl who used to graze his goats at“Sal’.”One of those goats was about to die, so the slave girl took a sharp-edged stone and slaughtered the goat with it. The people asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about its ruling, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted them to eat it.
