It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After death, every one of you is shown his place morning and evening; if he is among the people of Paradise, then his place among the people of Paradise is shown to him, and if he is among the people of Hell, then his place among the people of Hell is shown to him, until Allah resurrects him on the Day of Judgment.

Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) gave his wife a divorce while she was in her menstrual period. Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this issue, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that he should take her back and wait until she has her menstrual period again and then wait until she becomes pure, then before approaching his wife, he may divorce her. This is the method according to which Allah has given men permission to divorce their wives. It was the practice of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when he was asked about a person who divorces his wife during her menstrual period, he would say: I had given my wife one or two divorces, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to take my wife back and wait for the next menstrual period and then for her to become pure, then before approaching her, to divorce her. Whereas you have given your wife three divorces; you have disobeyed the command of Allah which He has given you regarding divorcing your wife, and your wife has become unlawful for you until she marries another man besides you.

Bishr bin Harb says that I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that O Abu Abdur Rahman! How is the prayer of a traveler? He replied: If you act upon the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), I will tell you; if not, then I will not tell you. We said: O Abu Abdur Rahman! The best way is indeed the Sunnah of our Prophet (peace be upon him). He said: When the Prophet (peace be upon him) would leave this city, he would not pray more than two rak'ahs until he returned.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out with the intention of performing Umrah, but the disbelievers of Quraysh came between the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the House of Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), being compelled, sacrificed the sacrificial animal and had his head shaved at Hudaybiyyah itself, and made a treaty with them on the condition that he would come for Umrah the following year and would not bring weapons with him, except for swords. And his stay in Makkah would be according to the wishes of Quraysh. Accordingly, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came the following year for Umrah and entered Makkah according to the terms of the treaty. After staying for three days, the Quraysh asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to leave, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from Makkah.
