It is narrated from a freed slave of the Prophet (peace be upon him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Five things are excellent and how heavy they are in the scale of deeds: La ilaha illallah, Allahu Akbar, Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, and a righteous child who passes away and his father remains patient over it. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Hakam that he asked the Prophet (peace be upon him): Tell me, what is the ruling about the things we used to do in the days of ignorance, for example, we used to take omens from birds? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: This is just a delusion of your mind; now it should not prevent you from doing anything. He asked: O Messenger of Allah! We also used to go to soothsayers. Hadith of Abu Hashim ibn 'Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 15664
Shaqiq narrates that once Sayyiduna Muawiyah went to visit his maternal uncle Abu Hashim bin Utbah who was ill. Sayyiduna Abu Hashim began to weep. Sayyiduna Muawiyah asked, "Dear uncle, why are you weeping? Is there pain somewhere or do you desire more of worldly life?" He replied, "It is neither of these. Rather, the Prophet (peace be upon him) took a promise from us and said: 'O Abu Hashim, it may be that you are given so much wealth as is not given to many nations, but for you, in accumulating wealth, a servant and a mount for striving in the path of Allah should suffice.' But now I see that I have accumulated a great deal of wealth."
