Hadith Number: 13205
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, he had Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) seated behind him. Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) was elderly and well-known, whereas the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was young and not widely recognized. Therefore, if anyone met them on the way and asked, "Abu Bakr! Who is this person ahead of you?" he would reply, "He is showing me the way." The listener would think that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was showing him the way, while Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) meant the way of goodness by this.
Once, on the way, Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) looked back and saw that a horseman had come very close to them. He said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! This rider has reached us." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards him and said, "O Allah! Make him fall." At that very moment, his horse threw him off its back and stood neighing. The horseman said, "O Messenger of Allah! Give me a command." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Go back to your place and do not let anyone reach us." In the early part of the day, that person was striving against the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but by the end of the day, he became a weapon for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Thus, as they continued their journey, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached a rocky area and camped there, and sent for the Ansar. They came, greeted both of them, and said, "Ride with peace and tranquility and come." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) mounted, and the Ansar surrounded them with armed guards for protection. Meanwhile, in Madinah Munawwarah, it was announced that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had arrived. People began peeking out to see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and started chanting, "The Messenger of Allah has come!"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) walked until he reached the house of Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) and dismounted there. While the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was talking to the household, Abdullah bin Salam heard the news. At that time, he was cutting dates in his orchard for his family. He quickly cut the dates, took them with him, and presented himself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), listened to his words, and then returned home.
Meanwhile, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the people, "Among our relatives, whose house is the closest?" Hazrat Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) presented himself and said, "This is my house and this is my door." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then go and arrange a place for us to rest." Hazrat Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) went and made the arrangements, then returned and said, "O Messenger of Allah! The arrangement for rest has been made. Both of you please come and rest with the blessing of Allah."
When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived, Abdullah bin Salam also came to him and said, "I bear witness that you are the true Messenger of Allah and have come with the truth. The Jews know that I am their chief, son of a chief, and a scholar, son of a scholar. Call them and ask them." So they came, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them, "O group of Jews! Fear Allah, by Allah, besides whom there is no deity. You know that I am the true Messenger of Allah and I have come to you with the truth, so accept Islam." They said, "We do not know anything."
