It is narrated from Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once during the expedition of Dhat al-‘Usheirah, I and Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) were travel companions. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) camped at a certain place and stayed there, we saw some people from Banu Mudlij working in the springs of their gardens. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me,“O Abu al-Yaqzan! Come, let us go to these people and see how they work.”So we went near them and watched their work for a while. Then we began to feel drowsy, so we returned and lay down on the ground in a garden. We slept so deeply that only the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and woke us up. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was shaking us with his foot, and we were covered in that soil. On that day, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him),“Abu Turab!”because there was much soil (turab) on him. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“Shall I not tell you about the two most wretched men among all people?”We said,“Why not, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!”The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“One is the fair-skinned man from the people of Thamud who hamstrung the she-camel of Allah, and the other is the man who, O Ali, will strike your head and soak your beard with blood.”
