مسند ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه
Musnad of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 7787
حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، حدثنا معمر ، وعبد الاعلى ، عن معمر ، عن الزهري ، عن ابي سلمة ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يرغب في قيام رمضان، من غير ان يامرهم بعزيمة، فيقول: " من قام رمضان إيمانا واحتسابا، غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to encourage standing (in prayer) during Ramadan, but did not give a strict command. He used to say: Whoever stands (in prayer) during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his past sins will be forgiven.
