Musnad of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 8129
وقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" والذي نفس محمد بيده، لخلوف فم الصائم اطيب عند الله من ريح المسك، يذر شهوته وطعامه وشرابه من جراي، فالصيام لي وانا اجزي به" .
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace be upon him), the breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk. The fasting person leaves his food, drink, and desires for My sake; therefore, fasting is for Me, and I Myself will reward for it.
