حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا سعيد بن المرزبان ، عن عبد الرحمن بن الاسود ، عن ابيه ، عن عائشة ، قالت: " تزوجني رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وعلي حوف فما هو إلا ان تزوجني، فالقى علي الحياء" . قال سفيان: والحوف: ثياب من سيور تلبسه الاعراب ابناءهم.
Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) married me, I was wearing a hauf (a specific type of rural garment). When he married me, I shrank into myself. Sufyan says: Hauf is a specific type of garment which villagers make their children wear.
