(577) باب ذكر الدليل على أن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم إنما داوم على الركعتين بعد العصر بعدما صلاهما مرة لفضل الدوام على العمل
The chapter on the evidence that the Prophet continued praying two units after Asr after praying them once, due to the virtue of consistency
Hadith Number: 1283
حدثنا علي بن خشرم ، اخبرنا عيسى ، عن الاوزاعي ، عن يحيى ، عن ابي سلمة ، عن عائشة قالت: " كان احب العمل إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ما داوم وإن قل ، وكان النبي إذا صلى صلاة داوم عليها" وقال ابو سلمة: الذين هم على صلاتهم دائمون سورة المعارج آية 23
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the act most beloved to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was that which was done consistently and regularly, even if it was little. Also, whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed a prayer, he would do so consistently. Sayyiduna Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse «الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ دَائِمُونَ» ("True believers are those") "who are constant in their prayers."
