Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon, his eyes would become red, his voice would rise, and his anger would intensify, as if he were warning an army and saying that it is about to attack you in the morning or evening. He joined his index and middle fingers and said: I and the Hour have been sent like this (together). He also said: After praise and glorification! The best speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The worst matters are newly invented ones (in religion); every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire. Then he said: I am closer to every believer than his own self. Whoever among the believers dies leaving wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves behind debt or children, then they are my responsibility, and the debt is upon me.
