Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the day of Jumu’ah, there is an hour in which, if any person is performing prayer and asks Allah for any good, Allah grants it to him.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever comes for Jumu'ah should come after performing ghusl (ritual bath).

Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports in a marfu‘ narration that performing ghusl on the day of Jumu‘ah is obligatory upon every adult.

Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub رضي الله عنه reports that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: Whoever performs (only) ablution on the day of Jumu’ah, it is valid, but whoever performs ghusl, then performing ghusl is superior.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (On the day of Jumu’ah) angels are present at all the doors of the mosque, who write down the names of those who come first in order. Then, when the Imam sits on the pulpit, they close their registers and begin to listen to the sermon. The one who comes first receives a reward equal to giving a camel in charity, the next receives a reward equal to giving a cow in charity, the next receives a reward equal to giving a ram in charity, until he (the Prophet) mentioned even a chicken and an egg (as charity).

Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: It is obligatory upon every adult to go for Jumu'ah (Friday prayer), and it is obligatory upon everyone who performs Jumu'ah to take a bath.

The companion of the Messenger of Allah, Abu al-Ja'd 'Amr ibn Bakr al-Damri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever neglects three consecutive Fridays out of laziness, a seal is set upon his heart.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead us in the Friday prayer after the sun had passed its zenith.

Sayyiduna Sa’ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), the first adhan was given when the imam would come (to the mosque), and the second adhan was given when the congregation stood (i.e., the iqamah). During the time of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), when the population increased, he ordered a third adhan to be given at the place called Zawra, and thus it continues to this day.

Abdur Rahman bin Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that after my father's eyesight was lost, I used to guide him. Whenever he heard the call to Friday prayer, he would say: O Allah! Have mercy on Abu Umamah. I said to my father: I am surprised that whenever you hear the call to Friday prayer, you pray for mercy for Abu Umamah. He replied: Son! He was the first person who led us in Friday prayer in a garden in the village of Hazm al-Nabiyyat, which is called Naqi' al-Khasmat. It is located within Madinah in Harrah Bani Bayadah. I asked: How many people were you that day? He replied: Forty.
