١٠٠٤٨ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن عيينة عن الزهري عن حميد عن ابي هريرة قال: جاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال: هلكت قال:"وما اهلكك؟" قال: ⦗١٣٢⦘ وقعت على امراتي في رمضان قال:"اعتق رقبة"، قال: لا اجد. قال:"فصم شهرين". قال: لا استطيع، قال:"فاطعم ستين مسكينا". قال: لا اجد قال:"اجلس" فجلس، (فبينا) (١) هو كذلك إذ (اتي) (٢) رسول الله ﷺ (بعرق) (٣) فيه تمر، فقال له النبي ﷺ:"اذهب فتصدق به" فقال: والذي بعثك بالحق ما بين لابتيها اهل بيت افقر إليه منا. قال: فضحك رسول الله ﷺ حتى بدت (انيابه) (٤) ثم قال:"انطلق فاطعمه عيالك" (٥).

Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that a man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I am ruined." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "What has ruined you?" He said, "During Ramadan, I had intercourse with my wife." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Free a slave." He said, "I do not have any slave." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Fast for two consecutive months." He said, "I do not have the strength for that." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Feed sixty needy people." He said, "I do not have the means for that either." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Sit down." So he sat down. In the meantime, a basket of dates was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said to the man, "Take this and give it as charity." The man said, "By Him who has sent you with the truth, there is no household between the two hills of Medina poorer than mine." Hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled so much that his blessed teeth became visible. Then he said, "Go and feed it to your family."
