Can a Man Set Conditions of Kind Treatment or Honorable Release When Marrying Off a Girl?

١٦٧٧٩ - حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن سفيان عن حبيب بن ابي ثابت ان ابن عباس كان إذا زوج اشترط: ﴿فإمساك بمعروف او تسريح﴾ (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) صحيح.
حدثنا حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد، عن سفيان، عن حبيب بن ابي ثابت، ان ابن عباس ،" كان إذا زوج اشترط: إمساك بمعروف او تسريح بإحسان 229"
When Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) arranged the marriage of a girl, he would stipulate the condition to the husband of either keeping her with kindness (emsaak bima'roof) or releasing her with goodness (tasreeh bi-ihsaan).
