في تشميت العاطس، من قال: لا يشمت حتى يحمد الله
Saying 'yarhamuk Allah' to the one who sneezes, and that it should only be said if he says 'alhamdulillah'

٢٧٦٥٢ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن سليمان التيمي عن انس بن مالك قال: عطس (رجلان) (١) عند النبي ﷺ فشمت، او شمت احدهما ولم يشمت الآخر، فقيل: يا رسول الله عطس عندك رجلان فشمت احدهما ولم تشمت الآخر، فقال:"إن هذا حمد الله (إن وهذا) (٢) لم يحمد الله" (٣).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) في [أ، ط]: (رجل).
(٢) سقط من: [أ، ح، ط]، وفي [هـ]: (إن وهذا).
(٣) صحيح؛ أخرجه البخاري (٦٢٢١)، ومسلم (٢٩٩١).
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that two men sneezed in the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated "Yarhamukallah" (may Allah have mercy on you) for one of them, but did not say "Yarhamukallah" for the other. It was asked of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Two men sneezed in your presence. You supplicated "Yarhamukallah" for one of them, but did not say "Yarhamukallah" for the other? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: He said "Alhamdulillah" and the other did not say "Alhamdulillah."
