Hazrat Zaid bin Yathi’ narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) received news that some people were saying certain things about him. So he (may Allah be pleased with him) ascended the pulpit and said: I adjure by Allah any companion of Muhammad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) who heard anything from the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) about me, let him stand up. So about six people stood up, and among them was Hazrat Sa’eed bin Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) as the sixth. Then all of them said: We bear witness that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever I am a friend to, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) is also his friend. O Allah! Befriend whoever befriends him, and be the enemy of whoever is hostile to him.
