Discussion on Purification
باب ما روي من قول النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم: الأذنان من الرأس
Chapter on what is narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him): "The ears are part of the head"

حدثنا ابو محمد بن صاعد ، إملاء، نا بندار ، نا عبد الوهاب الثقفي ، نا حميد ، عن انس ، انه" كان يتوضا فيمسح ظاهر اذنيه وباطنهما، ثم قال: رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فعل ذلك" . قال ابن صاعد: هذا يقول الثقفي، وغيره يرويه عن انس، عن ابن مسعود من فعله.
Humaid narrates: When Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) performed ablution, he would wipe over the upper part and the inner part of his ears, and then he used to say: "I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) doing this." Other narrators have reported it from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) as the action of Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
