Sayyiduna Miqdam bin Ma’di Karib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“I have been given the Book and also that which is like it (i.e., the Sunnah has been given to me). Soon there will come a time when a person with a full belly, reclining on his bed, will say: ‘Between us and you is Allah’s Book; whatever is declared lawful in it, we will consider lawful, and whatever is declared unlawful in it, we will consider unlawful.’”(The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:)“It is not so. It is not permissible to eat any predatory animal with sharp teeth, or to eat a domesticated donkey, or to pick up the lost property of a person under a covenant. However, if it is something that is not needed, then the ruling will be different. Whoever becomes a guest of a people and they do not show him hospitality, then he has the right to forcibly take food from them according to his need.”
