It is narrated from Abdullah bin Harith, he says: I and Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) were standing in the shade of Sayyiduna Hassan's (may Allah be pleased with him) palace. Sayyiduna Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: Do you not see how people's necks have turned in different directions in pursuit of the world? I said: Yes, indeed. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Soon a mountain of gold will emerge from the Euphrates. When people come to know of it, they will go towards it. The people present at that mountain will say: By Allah! If people are left in their state, this mountain will be finished. Then people will fight among themselves, and out of every hundred, ninety-nine will be killed.
