باب ما يقرأ به فى العيدين
Chapter on what is recited in the two Eid prayers
Hadith Number: 2860
عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنه قال: صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم العيد ركعتين لا يقرا فيهما إلا بام الكتاب لم يزد عليها شيئا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the two rak‘ahs of the Eid prayer, and in both rak‘ahs he did not recite anything except Surah Al-Fatihah, that is, he did not recite any (verse or surah) in addition to Surah Al-Fatihah.
تخریج الحدیث: «اسناده ضعيف، حنظلة السدوسي تركه يحيي بن سعيد القطان، وضعفه احمد وابن معين، والنسائي وابوحاتم، وكان قد اختلط بأخَرَة حتي كان لا يدري ما يحدث، وشھر بن حوشب مختلف فيه أخرجه دون تقييد بصلاة العيدين أبويعلي: 2561، والطبراني: 13016، والبيھقي: 2/ 62، (انظر مسند أحمد ترقيم الرسالة: 2174 ترقیم بيت الأفكار الدولية: 2174»
