Section on What Has Been Reported Regarding the Superiority of Shaving Over Trimming
Hadith Number: 4536
عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ((اللهم اغفر للمحلقين)) قالوا: يا رسول الله! والمقصرين؟ قال: ((اللهم اغفر للمحلقين)) قالوا: يا رسول الله! والمقصرين؟ قال في الثالثة: ((والمقصرين))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! Forgive those who shave their heads. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! And those who shorten their hair? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! Forgive those who shave their heads. They said: O Messenger of Allah! And those who shorten their hair? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! Forgive those who shave their heads. The people said: And those who shorten their hair? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: And forgive those who shorten their hair as well.
