Section on What Has Been Reported Regarding the Superiority of Shaving Over Trimming
Hadith Number: 4535
عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ((يرحم الله المحلقين)) قالوا: يا رسول الله! والمقصرين؟ قال: ((رحم الله المحلقين)) قال في الرابعة: ((والمقصرين))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! And those who shorten their hair? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads. Finally, he, peace and blessings be upon him, said the fourth time: And may Allah have mercy on those who shorten their hair as well.
