Hadith Number: 4709
Umm Sulayman says: I went to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked about the meat of sacrificial animals. She said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had prohibited it, but later he permitted it. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) returned from a journey and Sayyida Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) presented him with the meat of her sacrifice. He said: Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) not prohibit this? She said: He had prohibited it, then later permitted it. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him about this. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You may eat it from one Dhul-Hijjah to the next Dhul-Hijjah.
